About heritage hub's CREATOR

IMG_0041.jpg

Hello! My name is Britney Cordero and I am a student at Albright College majoring in Anthropology.  I started HeritageHub in my freshman year of college with the attempt of forming a community in which individuals feel inspired and encouraged to connect with their ancestors.  Speaking personally, being a Puerto Rican raised in the United States has taught me a lot about what it feels like to be disconnected to one's culture.  Getting a grasp of the language, customs, and overall spirit of Puerto Rico was complicated, in fact, one of the hardest challenges I've ever faced.  It was a battle between me, my own insecurities, and my willingness to connect with and better understand my own family.  Although I continue to struggle with self-doubt, I've had the most rewarding experience being able to understand my loved ones, Puerto Rico and its culture, and myself.  With this said, I would like to invite you to embark on this journey of self discovery as HeritageHub works to spread light on the cultures that have been misunderstood, those that society has tried to forget, and those that are in the process of revival.
